The Technical & Vocational Bureau The Amhara National Regional State Technical and Vocational Bureau is come a long way. Within the last few years the numbers of Institutions and Colleges have increased tremendously with number of Public TVET Institutions and Colleges standing at 62 as of 2010. Also many Private Institutions and Colleges are prospecting and opened in the Region. With clear understanding that the increase of number of Institutions and Colleges must be accomplished with proper infrastructures (equipments, machineries, laboratories, classroom, workshops and so on), the ANRS TVET Bureau is undertaking various construction, installation and procurement of infrastructures that will make training in various fields possible. Further to the above, the continuous development and training of trainers is considered important to the quality of trainers who in turn capacitate properly trained and qualified trainees among Technical and Vocational Graduates. To this end trainers at different levels are on the TVET Bureau scholarship. Presently, 378 level-C trainers with diploma Certificates are undergoing Bachelor (Science/Art) Degree Programs in various fields to become Level-B trainers. Further to this, 37 Level-B Instructors with First Degree Certificates are also attending Masters Programs through the scholarship of the ANRS TVET so that they can be upgraded to Level-A trainers. This initiative of the TVET Bureau is designed to be a continuous and sustainable one which both reduce turnover and make retaining of trainers a long-term benefit apart from having properly trained trainers. [For statistics of 2010 trainers undergoing upgrading training click]. Apart from trainers on various scholarships the TVET Experts from different processes and Units of the Agency have organized workshops, trainings, Skill-gap training, prepared training manuals and so on which can help trainers upgrade themselves both on-the-job and off-the-job so that the end objective of producing well-trained TVET graduates can be achieved.
